Democracy in the UK anyone? The unravelling of our Ratcliffe Trial

The news of the Association of Chief Police Officers downfall may be good news but is definitely tokenistic until real systematic change takes place. Unaccountable and mysterious police departments only molt and then re-group with another shiny abbreviation paid for with the liberties of the people. We have to make damn sure we use this time when they are on their knees to kick them hard and fight for real wins. If rules change on the police witholding evidence, if all the other infiltrators are squeezed out and if a few laws are tweaked about 'independent' reviews on police behaviour it won't be a speck on a mass change of consciousness on how we view the police. Whats needed now is a whole swathe of ideas on how we can control the police and make our mark about protest, as an innate way of being rather than as a 'right' handed down on high. All ideas most welcome.
